4 Fruit Infused Water Caribbean Recipes

Hello loves,

Drinking water was hard, very hard for me to do. I always will grab a sprite, coke, malt or juice over water. When I hit my twenties that is when reality hit me and I  really started paying attention to drinking water, the full 8 glasses and more. After doing my research and seeing all the healthy benefits of drinking water, I know for sure I had to join the water train.

I started the drinking loads of water and then realise it can be so boring just drinking water. So I did some more research and found a “chest with so many beautiful treasures” Infused water Recipes. Oh boy I was ecstatic. I decided to try them but in the Caribbean version and the results were endless. Fruit-infused water is a wonderful way to increase your water intake. And it tastes great. Since discovering and making my own fruit-infused water, my thirst, on most occasions, has been quenched.

If you’re guilty of not drinking enough water throughout the day, remember that water flushes out toxins and is key for healthy, glowing skin. The importance of daily water intake is often overlooked, and the fact that it isn’t as exciting to most as coffee, tea or soda, drinking enough is really hard for most people, although it makes a huge difference in how you feel and your overall health. Here are some reasons why you should start drinking infused water.

1. Real vitamins and minerals from the fruits are infused into the water, bringing life to your water and a boost for your immune system.

2. Helps boost mood, concentration and productivity.

3. Very low in calories

4. No artificial additives or sweeteners

5. Healthy and refreshing way to add taste and flavour to your drinking water.

6. More filling than drinking plain water; therefore cravings are reduced

7. Aids digestion and boosts metabolism.

8. Aids weight loss.

9. Inexpensive

Here are 4 of my favorite fruit infused water recipes:

Lemon, Basil  + ginger 1 lemon sliced, a handful of fresh basil leaves, 1/4 cup ginger, 10 cups of water and 4 cups of ice.

Watermelon, Mint + Cucumber | 1.5 cups of sliced watermelon, 10 cucumber slices, a handful of fresh mint leaves, 10 cups of water and 4 cups of ice.

Orange + Apple  | 4 sliced oranges, 1 whole apple sliced, 10 cups of water and 4 cups of ice.

Pine apple, Cucumber, Lime + Mint | 8 sliced pine apples, 8 cucumber slices, 6 lime slices, handful of mint, 10 cups of water and 4 cups of ice.

Each recipe makes approximately 1 gallon. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before drinking, in order to bring out the flavors.

Take advantage of the fruits we have available at this time. All the fruits can found in the supermarket.

Let me know which one is your favorite.
